Police Fire Shots On 85th & Drexel
Someone was placed into custody following the shooting reported at 9:14 p.m. in the 8500 block of South Drexel Avenue. Preliminary reports indicate that a weapon was recovered, but those reports have not yet been confirmed, said Chicago Police Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known but no one was hit, said Curtis Tarver, a spokesman for the Independent Police Review Authority. The agency is responsible for investigating police-involved shootings.
